A truly inspiring music is almost a substitute for meditation. Like meditation it transports you to another world. The only difference is that while you have to make conscious effort to arrive at a state of meditation, the inspirational music just carries you off on its wings. It focuses your diffused thoughts at one point which is its central theme. In case the theme of the vocal music coincides with that of your meditation, you are doubly blessed...

Meditation music is composed around many themes. You do not have to sit down in a certain posture at a specific time to meditate. You can meditate even while walking on a footpath in a crowded market place, cycling or traveling in a bus or a plane. Your iPod contains the music and its headphone is plugged into your ears. It prevents your mind from wandering aimlessly, but keeps reminding you that you are, for example, a quiet and calm soul performing your duty in this world while your mind is connected with the supreme soul. Your hands are at work while your mind is connected with your God. If you are a non-believer, the music invokes you to remain calm and detached and yet blissful even in tense circumstances. You walk around the fish market and yet remain immune to the chaotic and noisy crowds.

Various themes that the meditation music is composed of build similar states of mind. Meditation music can promote constant awareness and alertness with detachment which may culminate in keeping you aware, alert and clam even when your soul leaves your body. We received a customer review of our Tai Chi album in the Lifestyle series, and we just had to share it with you today!

"What a wonderful CD Tai Chi [Lifestyle] is. As an instructor I am always searching for suitable music but quite often am disappointed as maybe only one or two tracks are suitable and waste money. This particular CD is just right with tracks for warmups and then going into the right beat for "playing" Tai Chi. I do demonstrations at the hospice now and again, and their faces look so relaxed as they listen to the wonderful music (plus of course our movements)! My classes love this one too - so thank you."

Let's Start Yoga Thursdays!

For those that use Twitter, you know there are hashtags to commemorate certain days. The most popular ones are Music Monday (#MusicMonday), Travel Tuesday (#TravelTuesday), Wine Wednesday (#WineWednesday), and Follow Friday (#FollowFriday). So we've decided there needs to be something for Thursdays, and we think yoga is just the community to do it.

So what would Yoga Thursday (#yogathursday) entail? Well, in the end it will evolve into something probably different what it will start out as today, but we have some framework in mind. For starters, it's simply a way to get a conversation going about Yoga and to have a way to interact with other Yoga enthusiasts on Twitter! So, when you talk about anything yoga related on Thursdays, simply add the tag #YogaThursday so that everyone else can see it! Also, it could be a great way to share poses, or tips! Yoga studios could do promotions within it, and people can talk about their favorite studios! You could give shootouts to your favorite Yoga related follows and followers! The possibilities are both limitless and extremely exciting!

For instance, we will start by telling you who are our favorite Yoga people on Twitter and telling you about some of our favorite Yoga albums. I mean, you probably know that within our Lifestyle series we have specific Yoga albums, but did you ever think that our new Ambience series would probably work really well for Yoga too? Or how about our Chill Out series, or Spa series, or even our Nature & Music series? These are all things to discuss on #YogaThursday!!!

Today is the last day of the Autumn Fair International in the U.K., which he have been a part of, and so we wanted to make sure you knew of another chance to come meet us and talk with us about music in person!

September 20-22 We will be at the GLEE Trade Fair at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham (UK). And no, this isn't the popular U.S. television program "Glee", this is the Garden & Leisure Exhibition! We'll be representing the Home & Gift products, and will be happy to see and meat you, so if you're going, tell us so we know to look out for you!

But that won't be the only place Global Journey will be represented; our Distributors and Partners all over Europe are also in the midst of exhibiting at trade fairs this time of year. Global Journey will be featured in Ireland, The Netherlands, France, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Germany and South Africa to mention but a few countries. So if you see us, stop by and say hello!

In the Sparrow's Nest Reviews!

Last week we shared a review from Shining Dawn Books, and now we have a wonderful review from the non-business website of that company, In The Sparrow's Nest. This review focuses on our Children's music albums and our Classical Music compilations. We'll excerpt it here and then encourage you to read the full review on their website (which was a Top Homeschooling Blog 2010 Award Winner).

What a wonderful blessing it has been to get the opportunity to have these!...

First of all, I will talk about the children’s CD’s. On a recent three hour car trip, my four year old refused to allow us to listen to anything BUT these CD’s!... The songs are upbeat and cheerful, just what you’d expect for children...

Now, on to MY favorites, the classical music CD’s. After listening to these, I’m planning to thoroughly use them this coming school year... That will come in handy as we study various composers throughout the year...

I give a huge thumbs up on all of the above CD’s and look forward to continuing to enjoy them in the future!
